Tussah Silk is a natural and wild silk, produced from the cocoon of the wild oak silk moth. Since it is not cultivated in a controlled environment, the caterpillars are not killed, allowing them to leave the cocoon before it is transformed into silk, thus Tussah silk is also considered "cruelty-free."

Tussah silk may seem slightly stiff at first, but after the first wash (by hand) it will change in texture, becoming softer.
A typical characteristic of silk is its ability to enhance the brilliance of colors, which makes it suitable not only for handwork but also for knitting machines, weaving, and embroidery.
Tussah silk is ideal for creating light and airy garments, as well as elegant ones; it will provide freshness and comfort to the wearer. Additionally, it does not wrinkle easily, making it suitable for everyday use.

BC Garn Tussah Silk is spun and dyed in Italy by a mill that currently produces only for the textile industry and is a yarn with unique characteristics, ideal for hand knitting.

50 g and 250 meters spool.

It is recommended to work with needles of 2.5-3.5 mm. To make a women's blouse in size M, 5 spools are needed.

For the 10 cm sample, work 24 stitches.

Hand wash in cold water.
Attention: The dyeing of Tussah silk requires a lot of color, therefore it may release color during the first washes.
